Autonomously operating distribution grids.
Identify and alleviate grid constraints, autonomously.

You can't see where constraints are.
Most constraints only show up once something has already gone wrong. By then it's hard to say which transformer or line section was actually at its limit, so the fix gets applied to the whole feeder.
You don't know which devices sit behind them.
Even when you know where the constraint is, the list of customers and resources connected behind it is usually incomplete. Connection records drift and GIS data falls behind.
You're paying for flexibility you don't use.
When you can't pinpoint where a constraint will occur, the safe choice is to secure flexible capacity across every feeder that might be at risk and activate it on forecast. Much of that capacity is never called on.
